President

Amanda Sevener

Hello! My name is Amanda Sevener. I am a wife and stepmom to two amazing kids. I have been a special education teacher for 15 years and Vice President of ValorCares. Together with my kids and husband, we love to explore and be outdoors. We enjoy dispersed camping out west and will be traveling into Canada this summer to camp there as well! My favorite things to do usually include my family, our two dogs, and a book! I am so excited to be President of the Friends group for our Library. I am looking forward to working together to create a Friends group that will support our library for generations to come!

Vice President

Chris Surfus

I am the Vice-President of the re-established Friends of the USS Liberty Public Library. The group was looking for volunteers so I took the leap. I am in my second year of retirement from the K-12 education field and have always loved libraries. In fact, I worked part-time in libraries throughout high school and college. I have one adult daughter, a son-in-law, and 3 grandsons that keep me busy. My claim to fame growing up, I am the oldest of 10 children. I am so happy to be part of the Friends group and look forward to all the activities and FUN we will have growing our membership and getting to know so many of the other volunteers in the group.

Treasurer

Karen Boedecker

I spent the last several years when I lived in Madison, caretaking for my Mom and Dad so that they could remain together; they both passed, Summer 2016, then I moved to the area to be closer to family. I spent most of my professional life working Tax Season (still there), Fraud Auditor, Mergers and Acquisitions and as Controller for several Research and Development start-ups.

Secretary

Kelsey Schreiner

My husband and I grew up in the Grafton community and having such a positive experience, we knew we wanted to raise our kids here. I was a first grade teacher for over 5 years and since became a Mom to two little girls while starting a photography business. I love designing, yoga, nature walks and home cooked meals. I look forward to bringing more awareness of our local library to the Grafton community and the surrounding areas through social media and other creative outlets. In this position, I am bringing you cheerful content, detailed notes, creative marketing and most likely coffee, because I’m obsessed with good coffee!
